Shipping & Pick Up
Our boxes contain about 1- 1/2 pounds of holly in a gift box (approx. 12, typically 1-foot long sprigs, dipped to preserve them, well berried). The actual amount of holly in each box varies with the weight of the berries… more berries, fewer pieces. If you are ordering for local use , we hope you can find some cones or conifer branches to add to the holly … since the biggest cost is for mailing we don’t add these heavy items but ship only holly.
Unless otherwise requested, we try to have the shipment arrive in early to mid-December, giving the recipient time to enjoy it during the Christmas season and for a week or 2 afterwards. We cannot control post office delivery times.
The holly has been dipped to help preserve it and if the recipient follows instructions included with the holly it should keep for several weeks. If it arrives early it can be kept cool i.e. in the refrigerator, until ready to display. If we send it too late there is no time to ship a replacement should it run into a snowstorm in the East or somehow get delayed and get frozen.
PRICES:
Shipping method and destination affects price. Express post prices (faster, less likely to be delayed and frozen) include guaranteed safe delivery (sending again, if time, or refund). Totals will not show on the order form; don’t worry, we will advise you of the cost before we process the order. Choice of method of sending to various destinations is below, there are no additional shipping or taxes :
Expedited Post anywhere in Canada and continental USA, includes holly, taxes & shipping: $37.00. This is the simplest but there is some risk of damage and it takes perhaps 8 days for delivery.
Express Post is quicker and, therefore, safer from damage:
Express Post: to the Canadian Prairie provinces (AB, SK, MB): $46.00
Express Post to Ontario: $52.00
Express Post to Quebec: $62.00
Express Post to the Canadian Maritime provinces (PEI, NB, NS NFLD): $66.00.
To the Territories, Alaska or Hawaii: inquire, e-mail or phone
These prices are total prices, including holly, taxes and shipping costs.
When shipped, holly is susceptible to freezing, turning black. This can be the result of the postal trucks carrying it from the airports to your home being delayed, perhaps during snow storms. It may have been exposed to freezing temperatures in trucks, particularly if the recipient is not home when first delivered and a card is left and the holly is returned to the post office, possibly spending several hours or even overnight in an unheated truck.
If we suspect there could be a problem we will instruct the post office to deliver only a card announcing the arrival of the holly so that the recipient can pick up the box at their local post office parcel outlet.
However, if the holly arrives in unsatisfactory condition please contact us by e-mail AS SOON AS POSSIBLE: holly@hollychristmas.com
